DIY Donut Card

For those of you who know me or follow me on Instagram you probably already know how much I love to make cards. So naturally I was making my friend a birthday card when I had to idea for the ultimate card. A DONUT CARD. I loved making this card so much I decided to share it with you guys!

Supplies:
Pencil
Glue (Im using the Tombow MONO Permanent Adhesive Applicator)
Scissors
Craft Knife
Brown Paper
Colorful Paper
Optional:
Cutting Mat
Ruler
A dope TV show to binge while DIYing (I'm current catching up on Vinyl on HBO)

Step One: Fold the brown paper in half.

Step Two: Make a large circle on the paper. I used the bottom of my globe.

Step Three: Cut it out. Make sure not to cut off the folded edge or else you'll end up with two separate pieces of paper.

Step Four: Trace the same size circle on the pink paper.

Step Five: Create "icing" lines inside the large pink circle.

Step Six: Cut out the "icing"

Step Seven: Glue the pink "icing" onto the brown "donut"

Step Eight:  Draw a small circle in the middle of the "donut". I used the cap of my makeup setting spray to get the right sized circle.

Step Nine: Cut out the small circle using a craft knife. This is the hardest part, so take your time and go slowly.

Step Ten: Cut 1/4" strips of paper.

Step Eleven: Cut the strips into 1/2" "sprinkles".

Step Twelve: Glue the "sprinkles" onto the donut.

Step Thirteen: Enjoy!

Let me know if you end up making this!

Skin Care Favorites

For the past three years I have been dealing with acne and the aftermath of acne scars. I used foundation religiously to cover it up until I decided to deal with actual problem. After a ton of different products and home remedies I have found what works for my skin.

My skin type is normal/oily and very sensitive. I tend to deal with hormonal acne and break out more when I eat more sugar and oily foods. I've been using these products for a while now and I have seen the best results with them .

Face wash: I learned the hard way that acne specific face washes do not work for me. They strip my skin of it's natural oils and leave me with more acne and dry spots then before. The Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser has been a beacon of hope in the dim journey I have had with face wash. It's gentle enough to not break me out but strong enough to remove my heavy duty Nars All Day Luminous foundation.

Sunscreen: Everyone should have sunscreen in their daily routine. This is not something to take lightly. Sunscreen will protect you from premature wrinkles and skin cancer. Most sunscreens leave your face oily and foundation slipping everywhere. Neutrogena Clear Face sunscreen is the exception. It doesn't break you out or irritate skin and leaves you with a beautiful matte finish.

Scar Treatment: I think it's safe to say that acne scars are the worst. They are hard to cover and nearly impossible to get rid of. I've tried everything from laser treatments to DIY remedies to get rid of mine. Kiehl's Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution has given me the best results. It is extremely gentle, it doesn't have the horrible sent that most dark spot removers have and it can be used day and night.

Night Moisturizer/Oil: Kiehl's products are one of my favorites. They are reliable, gentle and get the job done. Their Midnight Recovery Concentrate is no different. You put it on before bed and wake up with bright, soft skin and smaller pores. Bonus: it has a relaxing lavender scent!

What are your favorite skincare products? Let me know in the comments!

Glossier: First Impressions

I've been wanting to try Glossier for years and as soon as I found out they came out with a face wash, I knew it was time. If you've never heard of Glossier, it is the skin care line made by the cool girls behind the blog Into The Gloss. They created a line of basic skin care for all skin types. I bought the Phase 1 Set and the Coconut Balm Dotcom. The Phase 1 set includes the Milky Jelly Cleanser, Priming Moisturizer, Perfecting Skin Tint, and Balm Dotcom. BONUS it comes in the most beautiful minimal packaging! If you're interested in trying these products make sure to CLICK HERE to get 20% off your purchase!

Milky Jelly Cleanser: THE HOLY GRAIL! This cleanser can be used on wet and dry skin. To remove makeup you apply it directly on dry skin. This was the first time I had heard of a face wash like this. When I used the cleanser I was wearing They're Real eyeliner which is almost impossible to remove but this face wash did not fail! It melted off all my foundation and eye makeup instantly. Most face washes I use leave my face feeling tight afterwards but not this one. It left my skin feeling smooth and soft. I became instantly obsessed! It also has the best light rose scent.

Priming Moisturizer: I wish this one was more exciting. Its not bad but not life changing either. It's a very light moisturizer. Great for day to day wear but it has no SPF which is a big bummer for me. It creates a nice smooth base for under your makeup.

Perfecting Skin Tint: I love this stuff! This super runny liquid tint is amazing! It is very sheer but it leaves the most beautiful natural finish on your face. It's very light and doesn't settle into your pores. Great for work and summer.

Balm Dotcom: This is my second favorite thing in the set (after the Cleanser). This is SUPER thick which I wasn't expecting. I put this over my lip liner and it creates the most amazing natural finish. The original is unscented and the Coconut Balm Dotcom smells like a coconut macaroon! It's also great for dry skin and around your cuticles.

If you've used Glossier let me know what you think about their products! If not, whats your favorite skin care brand?
