After a week of DIY projects, spray paint, and IKEA furniture, my room makeover is complete! When I decided to re-do my room I wanted to go for a more mature look, so I retired my One Direction poster and bedsheets and headed to Pinterest for some ideas. Finally I went for a taupe color for my walls with accents of pink. My main goal was to create a space filled with light and no clutter.
| Vanity/Desk, perfect for all the work I need to get done! |
| Tray from Target (Threshold) |
| Pink chair from IKEA only $20! |
| Perfect for storing extra books, movies, CD's. |
| Organizing books by color creates a cleaner look. |
| Twine and clothespins are perfect for hanging photos. |
| $10 DIY project VS. $30 tassel garland on ETSY |
By enhancing the natural light in my room with light walls and reducing clutter I was able to get exactly what I wanted. Even though I had a small budget and space I was able to use the furniture I already had and with a little sanding and spray paint make them look brand new. Reusing things you already have saves your wallet and creates less waste!
It's important to create a space that makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. Take some time to make a space like that for yourself.
